Belfast Met Grade System for Applicants

PROJECT Involvement

Re-designing a current system with better user experience

Tools Used

Adobe XD, Adobe Suite

💪 The Challenge

While at Beingonline, I worked with many NI companies. Ulster University had a huge problem with students not being able to input their scores easily after they received their results. Which caused the administrative procedures to be a lot larger and take longer than they should have.

⭐️  The Process

  • User research and Product Discovery: I interviewed the stakeholders and the admin users to understand their problems. The main issue was that students at the time needed a computer to access the portal. The goal was to update the current system but also provide a mobile experience.
  • Designing: With user feedback i was able to design a minimal and easy to use website. I made sure to make it easy to process exam results and for the feedback loop to the applicant to be instant.  I worked form a currently existing branding so my design process was a lot faster

🎯 The Outcome

The client was impressed and so happy with the new functionality they asked us to build and roll it out as soon as possible. They reported back great feedback from staff that the exam results were super easy to manage and students didn't need to call or come in person as often to ask if the adminds recieved their grades.

Which caused the administrative procedures to be a lot larger and take longer than they should have. I interviewed the stakeholders and the admin users to understand their problems. Once I had everything I needed, the design was made minimal so it's not distracting, easy to use and fast to process exam results. It worked well and the stakeholders implemented the design immediately with little to no changes.

HSCNI Mental Health Evaluation Test

PROJECT Involvement

Wireframing the User Experience

Tools Used

Adobe XD, Adobe Suite

💪 The Challenge

HSCNI came to Beingonline looking to design an application that would take different types of users through a journey seeking Mental Health help with surveys that we're intrusive to users. At the time, a lot of farmers didn't have easy access from their mobile phone to mental health services which is a big concern in the industry.

⭐️  The Process

  • User research and Product Discovery: I researched a lot about psychology of someone who works on a farm and how to prevent any further triggersd when seeking help from a mental health service. I took the brief from the company and lead with their content to fit it into the best layout for users who would be only on their mobile phones all day alone on a farm.
  • Designing: In Adobe XD I focued on basic wireframing with simple colours to establish the best UX practices. The filed then later were send to a different agency to layer my wireframes with their UI.

🎯 The Outcome

The client was very pleased with all the ux guidance i left them with and my research behind the psychology of the user experiences in mental health.
