💪 The Challenge
React is a pre-existing tool that helps Insurance companies track where ships go, track their movements and check if they ever leave the boundary of their allowed ship movements. The system was now old and outdated, there was a lot of complains from customers that the user experience made the system hard to use. My goal was to overhaul with a new UI completely.
⭐️ The Process
- User research and Product Discovery: I filtered through all user feedback, the product manager's own understanding of the product and made a list of all features that need an overhaul of user experience. I also then came up with a simple and clean overhaul of the UI to make the site more clean and easier to read with so much heavy data.
- Designing: I moved Sketch old files into Adobe XD which at the time was a much more advanced tool. I was able to re-design over 50 pages of the site faster and more consistantly. Providing better readability, changing the font to be more user friendly and drawing better diagrams on the amps with new buttons for better visibility of issues.
🎯 The Outcome
All the companies i talked to after the overhaul were very pleased with the new changes, the UI was a lot more intuative, easier to read and export files for insurance reports.
