💪 The Challenge
Universities/enrolment officers lack detailed insight into candidates beyond standard applications, leading to high cold-call volume and inefficient outreach. All while Students face a time-consuming, impersonal journey having to rely on opinions from platforms such as Reddit or Youtube, with poor information for best university fit.
❓How might we build a product that uses data science and AI that helps universities find the 'perfect student' to match their criteria, while also providing the most informative experience to students.
⭐️ The Process
- Research: Conducting reaearch with enrolment officers and students to map their biggest paint points e.g. "I spend hours trying to find a student who is the best fit who also won't ghost me mid comms".
- User Personas and flows: Gathering all data into one documentation to understand use needs, analyse the best wins and what the product needs to be for the first MVP and how to take the product further.
- Product Ideation: Creating product requirements, ranking their priorities and then using Figjam to create product flows for both user scenarios.
- Design, Test and Iterate: Leading calls for user feedback (we started with university product) making changes to the data analytics and the ability to find students by adding more advanced filters to narrow down results,
- Developer handover: As the lead designer I made sure to align components with their corresponding code classes using Variables in figma with performance and quick building in mind.

🎯 The Outcome
The below designs display the products designed. With user feedback a lot changed a long the way, such as adding an AI companion for the mobile application, adding tags to university listings that were personalised to students interests. Creating a very personalised onboarding to gather as swiftly as possible students data.
The enrolment dashboard has also had a quick evolution with feedback, I narrowed down to the best data graphs to display the enrollment funnel in comparison to previous years. I added 'goals and targets' to track the type of students an officer needs to find, this lead us to linking those to all the data assets to gauge the success of said goals.
